Although the accessory/option list for Territory is extensive, a sunroof is not available. For a vehicle promoted as a lifestyle vehicle this would appear to be a glaring oversite.

I have a sunroof in my BA XR8 and cannot now imagine a Perth Spring or Autumn without it. Doen't anyone know why there is no current sunroof option for Territory or whether one is in the pipeline as a future option and if so when?

I'm with you. After starting this thread I noticed in the Territory brochure that the Territory roof has ribs (either for styling or structural strength or both) which may make a sunroof difficult but surely not impossible. I have also since spoken to my dealer who says that he can have an Hollandia sunroof installed aftermarket, no problem. I'd be happier with a factory jobbie!

Maybe because of the side curtain airbags in the roof liner?

Maybe theres no option because it would mean no overhead storage would be possible, and thats a big flogging point in the ad campaign for it.

You wouldn't be any worse off getting it done on the aftermarket as from what I saw on a tour through Tickford the 'factory' installation is a bit of a hack job....

The Hollandia ones we use at the dealership for aftermarket cannot be distinguished from Ford factory jobs, are identical units and the company we use (Prestige Sunroofs) do all the Mercs and BMWs too, a 100% top notch job.

For those of you with access to a Territory (particularly you Ford insiders), is there room to install a sunroof ie are there any body features or structural items that will interfer with an aftermarket installation?

Hi Guys,

Jefferson Ford in Mentone, Vic have a Territory Ghia with a Factory sunroof so I assume its possible. I know its a factory job because its identical to the ones I have seen in the GT's, etc.

Looked at a Territory Ghia over this last weekend. To my untrained eye it would appear to me to be a difficult job to install a sunroof given the shape of the headlining and the overhead console, without replacing the entire headlining. The outside roof ribing is not in the way. Further, without factory help it I would doubt that there is sufficient room for the roof to slide back. I know that with vehicles anything is possible with money but it seems a far more difficult task than for Falcon at the moment. Pity.
