It isn't a factory sunroof MintEA because the ones we get installed up here at Power Ford in Castle Hill, NSW are exactly the same as the factory job also, but there is definitely no factory option. The ones we use on Falcon are the same Hollandia branded German sunroofs but we have them installed by Prestige sunroofs here in sydney. The ones in the Ba GT's, and every other BA are identical to the ones from Prestige, whom Ford licences to build I believe. It's the Webasto Stratos 700. So in a nutshell it is possible, but is is not a factory option, just that Ford uses the same brand in factory that is used by the outside contractors and Prestige do the most fantastic job so they come VERY highly recommended by our dealership. http://www.prestigesunroofs.com.au/
I addressed this at the MMS, the lady said that because of the DVD player etc it had not been added as an option yet, she couldn't clarify for sure why an optioned sunroof wasn't added, but also added that the sunroof was apparantly not out of the questions
Because the REX mounts on the roof , the theory is you can't fit a sunroof as well. I gather since the DVD player will probably be more popular then a sunroof, plus possible B pillar issues, Ford hasn't bothered with the sunroof. However, it IS possible to fit a sunroof to the Territory, even with the DVD and the possible b pillar issue. Fit a spoiler style sunroof, the type that slides back over the roof. This is what VW did with the V6 Caravelle which has a B pillar roll bar, A/C ducting and DVD player right where the sunroof should slide. The only down side with this type is it may interfere with the roof rack system.

THe story I got from the dealer i bought mine from was that the Territory will be weakened too much if a roof is fitted and that they wouldnt fit any more. THey had already fitted one but were told by Ford not to do any more. Interesting about the fuse though - maybe Ford found problems in crash testing and removed the option.

Who ACTUALY believes what the folk at dealers say these days?
Do dealers get an internal to Ford bulletin or something that tells them what to say when a customer asks all sorts of questions. Can anyone post this FAQ up on this forum, as I am sure it make interesting reading.

Well maybe they should! A journey of a 1000 miles to a good dealer network begins with a single step. (Was that Mao Tse tung or Henry Ford?) Ford is a few steps behind its competitors.
