I have a 2001 mercury mountianeer and this transmission has had a 3-4 chatter since it was new. The dealer said that it was normal. This has gotten bad!!!! 450.00 after transmission service at 50,000 miles the dealer said this would fix the problem, by fluid flush and filter change then wait 200 miles then it would go away. I know cars and never heard of that line of crap in my life. I cant seem to figure out the transmission. maybe a servo? bad valve? Anyone else have this problem? it's worse on harder excelleration. it shakes the dashboard. i have the all wheel drive V8 4.6 anything anyone can give me for ideas E-mail me at HAMDENFIRE7@aol.com thanks.
Just wondering if you had heard from anyone about this problem. I have a 2002 also that does the same thing when i am driving slow. It feels like you are going over a washboard. I have had mine flushed and an additive added that they said should clear it up, but it has not yet. I am interested if you have any respones.
