Re: 05 Merc Mariner CD player trouble
A few suggestions here on removing jammed cd .
(1) I have a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer. I put some strong tape on a putty knife and in less than 15 seconds, I had both CD's! They had been stuck in there for a few months, and I thought I'd never get them out. That was great! thanks so much!
( 2) I went to Home Depot and got a 1 1/2" flexible putty knife and Scotch double-sided tape. I wrapped about an inch of the knife with tape and put paper on the top side. Inserted the putty knife, pressed down hard, gently lifted up and pulled the cd out!! Awesome! Saved tons of $$ to have the dealer remove the dash! :) Thanks
(3) Here's what I did. I took an old blank CD and put double sided tape on about an inch and a half on the edge then inserted it moved it around and hit the reject button. Not only did the stuck CD come out but also another one! I didn't know that I had two CD's in there! These CD's had been stuck in my cd player for over 6 months and they wanted $300 to fix this sending it off to factory. Thanks for the tips and I'm so glad for internet!!!!!!!!!
(4)Thanks a ton! I did something similar. I put a piece of strong 3M mounting tape on a blank CD and got it out of my 2007 Cadillac CTS. This saved me $700. That is what the dealership was going to charge me to replace the deck.
Might be worth a try ?
