skerzz Registered User Join Date: Mar 2004 Posts: 1	1998 Ford Explorer Sport I am going to college soon and I am looking for my first car. I came across a 1998 Ford Explorer Sport with 48k miles. It is 9grand. I have never owned a Ford and neither has my family, however we own jeeps and I am concerned about what I should look for in an explorer. What kind of gas mileage can I expect from the 4.0 sohc? What kind of rear ends come in the explorer? Are they all the 9inch? I probably will be adding a lift later on, How much suspension lift would I need to fit 31's or 32s? What stock gears should I be looking for if I plan on lifting it? How much does it generally cost for the suspension lifts? Any known mechanical failures/ problems? Is there any other things I should know about Eplorers? Should I be going with a different year? Or the 5.0? Thanks in Advance. Matt
