After driving my explorer 100 miles home I parked it and it set for an hour or so. When I tried to start the vehicle it would crank but not start or even hit. I disconnected the battery cable and reconnected. Any suggestions to try before towing the vehicle to a repair shop? Thanks

Hook a fuel pressure guage to it and check for pressure. Also check for spark.

No spark could be caused by a bad coil-pack or the wiring going to the coil-pack. Carefully inspect the connector and unplug it to look for corrosion. Good place to start. Check all fuses also so we dont miss something simple.

Thanks for your help, it was the camshaft positioning sensor that was bad.
