2000 4WD Explorer XLT Lift Kit

Has anyone had any luck performing a lift on one of these? Is it a wicked difficult job? Something a w/e mechanic can pull off? Just food for thought at the moment, but I'd definitely like to put some height on my truck (bigger clearance for the beach is my main concern).

I've been doing a lot of reading about TT and shackles lifts. Looks like the route I'll take.
