90K miles - O/D Light flashes rapidly and Engine Service Light comes on. If I pull over, stop the car, then restart problem clears. Some days I can drive 150 mi with no instance, others it may happen several times during the day. Only seems to be a problem at higher speed - 60 mph or so.

I took to the dealer and they recommend replacing the transmission for $4,380. Ouch. Replacement comes with 3 yr 100K mi warranty (don't get me started on that). Dealer said "Transmission case warped, 5th gear piston stuck, solenoid pack damaged."

Multiple questions to the forum:
1) Is there a fix short of replacement?
2) I live in Washington, DC area - anyone know of a reputable transmission shop to get this worked on?
3) What is a fair price for a rebuilt and what should I expect for warranty?
3) How long will this limp along until it dies? Give it to me straight Doc....

Get it flushed, emptied. Change the filter and have it refilled. Helped mine
