ok here the deal
i just bought a 2002 sport trac 4x4 4 dr 3 months ago!
seemed to be a good truck
76000 kms on it
everything was fine till the other day
driving down the highway when the o/d light started flashing
so i shut it off at an intersection and started back up
that stopped happining
so then i get home and get sorta stuck in the driveway
(live in edmonton and got quite a bit of snow this yr )
didnt think nothing of it and just rocked it back and forth in high 4x4 till i got it out
all of a sudden i had no tranny
now i have to shift 2 second to get it to go
drive wont work 1st ont work
if i shift into second and get it rolling i can then shift into drive and go anywhere i want
but if i have to stop at a stoplight i have to put it back into second to get going again
do the explorers have a known piss poor transmission or am i just a lucky guy??
cant see the filter being an issue as it goes ok in 2nd
anyone replaced their tranny whats the dammage?
or any easier ideas would be a great help
im thinking this is gonna cost me around 2 grand tho
so if anyone could enlighten me on why i got so unlucky with this id appreciat it

Take it to Ford. It may need a code update. My O/D lights were flashing at one point and it needed a code update.

OD light flashing means a trouble code with the trans. Take it to a good trans shop or Dealer.
