2003 Explorer outside air temp display

I have a 2003 Explorer XLT. The outside air temperature display is not correct. When it is 40 degrees outside, it might read about 48, but at 85 degrees it reads about 120. Is this a computer programming issue that can be updated, or do I need some new sensor, or something else?

I'd say that it needs a new sensor. Computer programming can only do so much, but if the reading is incorrect, then the sensor is most likely the problem.

I had the same problem with my Impala, GM replaced the sensor which fixed the problem.

It should be behind the grill or in that area.
