Looking for information on programing a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer with key fob operated rear hatch and doors. After three years of use, I have broken the top portion of my OEM fob that attaches it to the key ring allowing it to annoyingly float throughout my pocket. This SUV originaly came with two OEM fobs. My wife uses the second fob and is the main driver of the vehicle. I have located a used key fob, and would like to know the step-by-step programing instructions for both units. Any help with my delima would be greatly appreciated by one who knows.
Turn key in ignition 8 times in 10 seconds, ending in the on position
Locks will cycle to confirm programing mode
within 20 seconds press any button on your remote
locks will cycle to confirm programing
press any button on second remote,locks will cycle
continue with up to 4 remotes.
