Hello,

Have any of you had a problem with suspension bolts being loose on your 2005 Explorer?

The reason I ask is because my wife bought an '05 Explorer and after a few months or so we began to hear a crackling/banging sound coming from what seemed to me to be coming from the cargo area in the rear of the vehicle. After a few attemps to locate the sound I took it in for service and I was told the suspension bolts were loose. Now I'm a little worried about my wife driving the vehicle knowing those bolts were loose. Luckily she only drives it to work and back which is only about 2 miles from home. The vehicle only has about 5k miles on it which is good, but now my fear is that if she decides to take it on a road trip somewhere that these bolts will again begin to loosen up.

Is there a possiblity on getting this vehicle replaced by the dealer? If so, does anybody have suggestions on how to go about doing this?

I cannot suggest any ideas on getting ford to replace the car
But to put your mind at ease you could get nyloc nuts put on the suspension instead of standard nuts this will solve the problem
