2005 Sports Trac Door Jamb Switch Location

My 2005 Sports Trac does not know when the drivers door is open. After I have shut off the engine and open the drivers door, the radio continues to play, the lights on alarm does not sound, interior light does not come on.

If you open any other door the radio will shut off, as it should.

I don't know where the door jamb switch is located. There is not an exposed contact (plunger) switch and I don't see one near the door hinges.

One forum said that the switch is in the door latch assembly. I have sprayed WD-40 numerious times into that area but that has not fixed the problem.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated. This should be simple to fix and I don't want to take it to the shop for this.

Thanks in advance.

Door ajar switch is on the latch, and is part of the latch...........there may be codes stored to lead you to the problem.
