I have a 2000 explore that did NOT come with a third seat. I am was told that some of the Eddie Baure and Limited Editions had a 3rd row seat option. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can get the seats (2nd and 3rd row) from a wrecked Eddie or Limited and put them in my XLT? My big question is will I be able to safely install the 3rd seat.
I am not sure if there are pre-set holes in the floor to bolt in the seat or not. Try lifting the carpet to see if there are, then I would say to go for it.
I didn't think you could get factory third row seats in a 2000 explorer. I've only seen bolt on rear facing kiddie seats.
It wasn't until 2002 redesign ( or later) that they were available.
Third row rear facing kid seats that bolted on would be great. That is what I need the 3rd seat for. If I can get 2 kids in car seats in it, I am in business. Where do you think my best bet would be to get a hold of these? (A web site, Junk yard, Ford dealer?)
Calll the junkyards first and maybe one will be found on a locator! This will save you money. The dealer will ask for your arm and a leg for a new setup like that if it is even available.
