5 x 5 Beeps

Hi - I have just bought a 1997 Ford Explorer. A beast !
140 miles full service history.
But just after starting the car - I hear 5 sets of 5 beeps. Is it supposed to do this ?

Re: 5 x 5 Beeps

check the dash for any lights that stay on after startup while it beeps. it could be that another door is ajar or its telling you to put a seatbelt on. Sensors can also fail over time.

Sounds like an airbag problem. It's discussed in the owner's manual and there is usually a label in the glove box that discusses this. The beeps are from the air bag module.
