confused 98 Ford Explorer Limited 4WD Switch

I just got a this car, it has an air ride system and where I believe the 4wd switch would be is the air ride control switch with on road and off road settings. When i turn it to off road it raises up but no 4wd lights come on. I also am unsure if it even has 4wd or AWD, but it does have a 4wd light in the panel. So where is the actual 4wd control if i have one

Re: 98 Ford Explorer Limited 4WD Switch

if its a V8 then its AWD which means no switch, V6 has a 4wd switch next to the radio. awd is nice for intended uses such as roads and dirt roads but no trails. AWD means its constantly engaged with no way to take it out. Some V8 are 2wd only so there wont be a switch either.
