98 Ford Explorer Num Pad Codes - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

I have a 98 Ford Explorer I've owned for awhile been searching google for about an hour and cannot seem to find instructions on resetting the code for the door lock on drivers side. I am guessing this is because it's needing to be done by a dealer? Any information regarding how to do it or if it needs to be done by a Ford Dealer would be much appreciated thanks. The main code is on a sticker on the computer located in the drivers side back compartment where the jack is stored.
The instructions to set an additional code are on pages 107-109 in the owners manual.

ya that's one of my main problems. lol when I baught the vehicle it did not come with a owner's manual and I've been lazy and not gotten one yet. the information is much appreciated I'll start looking for that code asap.

is there anywhere else it would be located in the 98 ford explorer as I have looked there and cannot locate it?

I know it's been awhile since my original post but this issue isn't of dire need.

I have a 98 Explorer and the code was on a little gray box in the left rear jack compartment right above the wheel well. It is really hard to see but the numbera are 5 digits long and they are in the middle of the gray box facing towards the inside of the car. They are larger than the other wording on the box but it is hard to see. I will e-mail you the instructions for how to reset the codes once you find it.
