Brake lights not engaging - Ford Forums

Hello,

I have a 95 explorer 4.0, when I come to a stop at a light I step on the brake peddle and the lights do not engage, so I am told, unless I step hard on them. Is there a way I can increase the sensitivity when I step on the brakes?

Make sure the brake light switch is tight. I'm not sure if it is adjustable on that model.

There is nothing to tighten, it has a catter pin.

You are correct. Need to be sure it is seated correctly. Probably needs to be replaced.
