Re: buying 95 explorer

Alot of people had problems with the transmission in this year & model. The most common complaint has been the overdrive light flashing. Other complaints are; won't go into gear, clunking noise when slowing to stop & jerks when shifting from low to high. Re: buying 95 explorer

Overdirve light is an easy fix- pop the steering cover column off and check for a bare wire coming down from the shifter handle. It rubs until it shorts out agianst the steering column. Easy fix without parts if caught soon enough- just tape it!
