Cooling System Flush - Ford Forums

How often is it recommended to have the cooling system flushed out? I have a 95 Explorer..160,300 miles....last time I had it flushed was about 2 1/2 yrs ago. I had the system flushed, new hoses, and new thermostat and gasket done at that time. Thanks in advance.

Most of the antifreezes I've used recommend flushing and changing every 2 years--bob

if you don't mind me asking how much did it cost you.

At my local garage it cost me a little over $80. I provided the upper and lower hoses(goodyear hoses) I had the system flushed, new hoses, new thermostat & gasket and the water pump lubed. I would imagine if you take it to a ford dealer you'll be paying probably over $150.00 if not over $200.
