1996 Explorer with missing code. How do I find out what the code is or reprogram it to a new number. I bought it recently and previous owner didn't have it and never used it. I need to replace batteries in fob too if anyone can fill me in. Thanks for all help.

That code is the master code and can't be changed. So once you retrieve it, you can set up another code that is easier for you to remember. Instructions to do that can be found in your manual.

Fob batteries can be easily changed. The fob opens in half and the battery is there. Just go to any auto store and they'll most likely change the battery for you if you purchase one from them.

I spent the time to get the code off the rear cargo access panel and plugged it in the combo pad and it worked just like the YouTube video proclaimed. I subscribe to few different forums and I find them extremely helpful. Thanks again you have helped me a lot.
