How do I get the diagnostic codes from the computer on my 1996 Ford Explorer with 302 V8? I was expecting a code reader connector on the right-hand side of the engine compartment.

Re: Engine Diagnostic Codes

It's at the bottom of the dash near the hood release.(below the steering column) It is not marked, it's a panel about 2.5X3 inches. It just snaps out and the OBII connector is under the panel.
