explorer stalling out

I have a 1998 Ford Explorer. I started having a problem with it a few months ago. The obd says that the banks are running to lean but my mechanic said he tested everything and everything looks to be running fine, but perhaps I need a new mass air flow sensor. He did a relearn on the computer which didn't do anything. The truck shuts off when I idle too long. It doesn't matter if its in park or drive, but if I am idling in a parking lot or waiting on a line at a drive thru or even at a light to long the truck starts to rumble a little bit (nothing crazy but still alarming) and then shuts off. I was assured by several mechanics that it was no major problem, that it would only continue to happen and possibly affect gas mileage, but would not cause any further damage to vehicle if not figured out right away. But yesterday was the first time it actually stalled out while I was driving. Luckily for me I was pulling in my driveway and I don't live on a very busy road or I probably would have been hit. if anyone has any ideas on what I should try next it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
