Though I am sure its resolved or dead but now, I had a similar issue that I thought was the torque converter/stator chatter.
They use a thin tin heat shiled over the catalytic converter, the spot weld had cracked and it rattled at certain, low RPM's.

A 3" hose clamp around the exhaust and rattly tip of he heat shield shut it up.

Always worth a quick look.
