factory subs

Hi all I am new here this is my first post!

I have recently bought a 2004 explorer and want to add a factory subwoofer to it. Do all the explorers come from the factory with this wiring? Or is it only the ones with the audiophile system already installed? Thanks for any help you can provide. I didn't want to tear apart the backend just to find out if the wiring is there or not. :)

Re: factory subs

Well I guess the 2004 doesn't come prewired unless it came with a sub. The audiophile head unit for 04 has a three plugs in the back while mine only has two. I pulled out the radio in mine and no third plug in the wiring harness. Rats. According to the local Ford garage this third 4 pin plug is for the sub.
