hello i have a dome light issue with my 1995 ford explorer - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

with the engine off and the doors closed the dome lights don't shut off. there is no door ajar signal either. so the vehicle knows the doors are closed. i thought maybe the door switches. any help would be great.

is the interior light switch in the on position?

There is also a time delay circuit on the interior lights..... shut the doors, leave it alone for 5 minutes, and see if the interior lights are still on. If so, you have a problem...... a faulty door switch is the most likely culprit unless, as the previous poster said, you have the interior light switch on.
