Exclamation help???

i got a 98 explorer and the core plug at the bakc of the block is leaking...need to change it...anyone ever done one?..pleeese help...

As long as we are talking water leak and not oil leak then I usually get a socket set extention or a blunt drift and tap the core plug in. If you are careful and tap it on one side then the plug will travel in and go on an angle then flip around sideways. You can then get some pliar grips and pull it out. If it goes right into the block and falls into the water gallery then you will need to try and remove it.

Once removed you can carefully clean the block ready for fitting the new plug.

Put some sealer on the new core plug and gently tap into position.

If access is easy then maybe 30mins.

If you have to remove stuff to do it then more.
