I have a Loud deep throated humming noise and vibration coming from the front. It is loudest when cornering, but still audible on the straights. It sounds like dry bearings, but they are fairly new (about a cpl of years) and i have cleaned and repacked em several times trying to stop this. I can feel vibration through out the truck when it does it in cornering as well. I was thinking about just replacing the bearings and races again. Any suggestions???

Are the front wheel bearings a unit? On our 02 explorer one went bad and sounded like your describing. Replaced it and the noise is gone. On ours, it is not a servicable item, you must replace the whole unit.

Item one : check for umpalumpa's hidden under the front sheet metal ( they sing you know), two :swap the front wheels to another tyre to be sure its not that and get back to us .

Well no umpalumpa's and i've rotated the tires and i think i've found the problem. I believe the left front brake caliper is hanging up and dragging causing the pads to get very hot...gonna rebuild it and i'll let ya know.

Also make sure the brake hoses are OK.
