its an automatic, but it feels like a standard
hi everyone!
i have been noticing a weird change in my 95 explorer, it seems that when i'm driving it feels like a standard (like the gears are having trouble) my explorer is an automatic v6 4.0. i have 133,000 miles on it so i thought it might need a new transmission. some people, including some mechanics told me it might just be that i need new plugs and wires (which i have never had to replace)
i'm planning on getting these done this weekend, but will it work i wonder? another person said i might need a clutch but i told him i had an automatic, he said i still might need one. if you can tell, i don't know jack about cars! i'm just a college girl who needs transportation. i have taken my car to the dealership and they rang up a bill of $940 for a new gasket and more. i had the same problems some other people wrote about on having their car not starting or not idleing, but instead of posting my problem i went straight to the dealership. big mistake on my part! i just thought maybe someone else has had a problem like this and could tell me what i could do. if anyone knows of some things i could try please contact me, or reply to this.
future thanks,
kristin
