Minor crack in exhaust at muffler / tail pipe joint - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hi,

I have a minor crack (some gas escaping and the noise from the exhaust is a tad louder than usual) at the joint of the muffler box and the tail pipe (last section of exhaust system). I know I will need to replace the exhaust at some point, but for now I want to patch it.

In Ireland or the UK I would have bought some exhaust repair putty (muffler putty) but cannot find any online in Toronto. I see LOTS of sites for the US but not a single thing on Canadian Tire or similar.

Can anyone tell me where I might get exhaust putty (e.g. PERMATEX 80333 MUFFLER & TAILPIPE PUTTY) and why it seems to be waaay harder to get in Ontario than the US? Obviously I can order online from a US company but the shipping is always expensive so a local supplier would be better...

I would take it in and have the crack welded.
