Well

I was bored today and dropped into a mate at an exhaust place..

beats me how they squeazed those heads in there...

so the first mod is to remove 1/3 cats, and that 4 foot long muffler and put in a smaller unit

Not sure what she will sound like but its another work in progress

Also had a look at tyres, am screwed in OZ basically because of the 17s. some more research required here as well

Having trouble getting some decent rubber for the 17inch rims for the car

ATM i think they a 245/60/17 which as a road tyre they are very hard and slip and slide

I want 265 or maybe 275/55/17s with a decent tread but the rating drops them down to 180max speed and effect insurance

I can go a 18 inch rim, but tyres types are limited again

16s, and it would be fine but no point in doing that as I dont like 16s

The tyre is too hard and the tread is crap for what I have at the moment, I wanted something i could use offroad as well

Also the extractors are another issue,it seems as if it has to be a custom job..

any ideas guys

yea you are right on about these ideas of yours.
17 and 18 inch wheels dont offer you much selection at this time and 18 is worse than 17, the only thing you can do is look around a bit.
and as for the exhaust your best bet is to get some aftermarket high flow cats and have a custom exhaust fitted. the aftermarket stuff will give you alot more options and sound better anyway.
flowmaster mufflers are pretty popular around here or if you dont care about the cost you could check into a borla stainless system.

There was someone on the forums in Oz who imports a lot of stuff from the US via crate. Maybe give him a word as he was offering someone (or some people) to chip in and get some wheels sent over. The prices are damned excellent from the US. Plus you should have a huge selection. Just a thought...
