My son's (formerly my) '99 Mountaineer has developed a hiccup when the wipers are operating. The wipers will operate for about 30 seconds, then stop. You can then open a door, any door, and the wipers will start again and operate for about 30 seconds. Then you can open a door and the wipers start again. Etc., etc., etc. Any ideas?

There's a recall on the 99 Mountaineer concerning erratic windshield wiper problems.
