hi just wanting to know if theres any difference between the mustang and explorer sohc engines. if possible im wanting to put a mustang engine in my x

There's no difference. Both units at their highest, only produced 210hp. Depending on the year of your X, it might have the 205hp SOHC, but for 5hp, you'll more than likely lose that in drivetrain loss/exhaust back pressure, computer tuning to make the new engine work, etc.
