Good day to all, I have a 1995 explorer XLT, it came from factory with a 954 package, all auto, running boards, elct seats, so forth, I was rear ended and I took to have it fixed, my first mistake was not taking it to Ford, the bumper and tail gate where the affected areas, the ruber bumper guard's color maches the running boards, anyways, the dealer took the codes from the front drivers side door, and came back with black color bumpers, told me that mine where faded out, another person found the correct color for bumpers. The color that they painted this vehicle is extreamly darker then the origional, yes the vehicle is old, it is supposed to be a mid dark blue with light blue metalic flakes.

Where can I find the correct color code to match my vehicle?

There's many things that could cause the color to be different besides having the wrong code. Spray technique,wrong pressures or reducers, and the dreaded factory variants(different shades from the standard) just to mention a few.
As for codes there should be a tag either on the left door or door jamb. It will say exterior paint code,look above the line. There should be two letters probably a little hard to read,like ,MK ,KL,KE,LE,L1,etc. This will give you the paint color,unless it was repainted.

take ya car to reputable vehicle repairer they will have a prophey sysyem to match nearly any color and a computer to do the mix,i work in the car repair system and we have a glausurit system and have 1000s of prophys to match colors
