Picking up my new 2004 explorer tomorrow unless......

I am picking up my new 2004 explorer XLT 4.0 AWD tomorrow..........Unless I here bad things. I have tried reading up on what they can tow and it does have factory towing package. My boat with half a tank and most of my crap in it weighs almost 3000lbs. From what I've read, it can tow this relatively without a problem. Is this true? If I'm going to have trouble I might pass on the buy. Or any other things I should look for for the year. It only has 88k on it which for a 04 I thought wasn't bad.

Should tow 3k ok. I am not a fan of the 2002 and up explorer myself. They are prone to a few problems. Broken wires in door jamb harnesses, wheel bearings, rear axle noise, and depending on how used the transmission case can wear causing shift issues usually with 2nd and 5th gear.
