Please Help!!!

I have a 98 Mountaineer and the other day I was going into work and I think I might have knocked the switch over to 4WD Low before I started out of the driveway.
My commute is an hour long and involves both city and highway driving (65 - 70mph).
Now when I'm moving, there is this horrible scraping sound.
It kinda sounds like when someone has no brake pads left and is stopping but I get this sound when I'm rolling/driving.

Any ideas on what this could be?
I'm thinking something might have been damaged and is riding on the Axl.
I do know that the noise is coming from the front of the car.

Please let me know on here or at my e-mail: Nrichardson@elon.edu

Re: Please Help!!!

Actually, I took it to my local mechanic and what had happened is that my rear brake pads had worn through,
So the grinding noise while I was driving was the rear rotors keeping pressure on the wheel so it could actually brake
