98 Mountaineer V8 AWD. Front differential, d/s and axles are already out. I can get all of the bolt out of the oil pan but there isn't enough room to get it out. i'm assuming that I'd have to unbolt the motor mounts and lift the motor some to get it out, But it looks like if i cut the exhaust that I'd be able to get it out, since the manifold bolts are seized. And second... to replace the rear axle it looks like i would have to unbolt the link bars and drop the rear end and leaf springs as one? Not to hard i think on the rear end part, but the oil pan gasket is getting me discouraged. Anyone have experience with either?
also to price a rear end i have to know if its a 3.73 or a 3.55, can anyone tell me how to tell?
