Rear headrests won't go down...help!

I have a 2001 Explorer SportTrac and my friends pulled up the headrests on the rear seat as far as they would go and now I can't get them back down...which means I also can't put the rear seats down cuz they get in the way...

Is there some kind of trick for getting them down?? I'm moving soon and really need to be able to put the rear seats down!

According to the owners manual for your vehicle, At the base of the headrest (where the 2 metal rods go down into the seat back) press the release button while pushing down on the head restraint.
