Tire Recommendations...

Could anyone suggest an All Season tire that handles well whether the conditions are dry, rainy, or snowy (as we live in the snow belt off of lake erie)? Our 2004 Explorer is in need of some new tires. We are currently running P235/70R16s. I have heard good things about the Wrangler Silent Armour, but have also heard for whatever reason Fords are tough on the Wrangler brand. Is there a better tire regardless of brand that will perform well and have a decent wear life? I appreciate any input I can get on this subject.

Thanks to all!

I also live in the same area you do. I suggest the BF Goodrich Long Trail tire on that Explorer.

I have a 99 Explorer with a 255/70/16 tirre and I purchased Bridgestong Dueler A/T REVO's and they are great. with 6,000 miles there is barley any wear.

Re: Tire Recommendations...

When I had my '97 Explorer, I ran Dunlop Radial Rovers. Don't know if they're available in your size..... mine were 235/75-15.... about the same rolling radius. They are a very good compromise between noise, rolling resistance, dry pavement handling, resistance to hydroplaning, and snow traction.

With any tire, as you probably know, everything is a compromise. For instance; a GREAT snow tire usually has poor stability on dry pavement, is noisy, and has high rolling resistance, while a GREAT summer highway tire is worthless in the snow or slush.
