OK, so Ma's '98 Explorer Sport is gonna need some new rubber soon. I have the job of getting said tires. The tires that it had are, frankly, crap. So rather than just go on what the tire shop tries to sell you, I'd rather get some opinions from you guys
The car doesn't see that much travel (we're talking fewer than 5k miles a year) other than the weekly trip for groceries, but does go out sometimes in some not-so-nice weather. She'd like to have winter tread, and it doesn't run enough that the softer stuff would wear off next summer (at least I don't think it would). She doesn't care about road noise--just wants something that won't mind the snow and give a couple years' service
