Help , I own a 06 explorer wiyh a 4.0 v6 . the engine seems to hesitate around 1500 rpms also sluggish at same rpm reading. Has anyone else encountered this problem and how what it took to fix it.
I would assume being a 2006 it's under warranty so I'd take it to Ford and let them check it out. Sounds like maybe a sensor of some kind. As new as it is I'd be on Ford's as* about it.
I wanted to ask you if you've driven a new ford with the drive by wire throttle, but I see you also own a new mustang and that has the same setup. I have not ran into a 06 v6 explorer with a hesitation problem, but every day ford seems to come up with new re-programs for the pcm that fixes problems like this. So take it down to the dealership and have a tech look at. hope this helps.
