Hi all!
I have a 2004 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition. I am trying to install my Whistler 3600pro and I need to find a fuse and a ground in the car. I have located the Power Module under my hood, but no fuse seems to be correct, and I cant find anywhere to ground it. Most of the bolts are painted, and/or too hard to reach. I can run the ground either inside the car or outside, but other then drilling into the car, does anyone else know where I could do it?

Any ground will do on any metallic surface. As for power, you can purchase an inline fuse and tie it in with a major 12VDC supply. Olden days, the cigarette lighter was always a favorite. Fairly easy to grab and usually had a good sized fuse.

Whats a whistler. Is that a radar detector. If so then you maybe best to search for an auxillary at the fuse box or perhaps the cigarette lighter. Just be sure it is connected to an auxillary or cigarette lighter and not something you are unsure of. I have read of an instance of a mobile phone wired incorrectly to a power feed to the Cruise control and you guessed it, an out of control vehicle.

Yes it's a radar detector. And a fuse tap? Never crossed my mind! When I'm done with the install I'll post pictures.
