150 hp

I am keen to make around 150hp at the wheels with my 2ltr Mk1 and I was wondering what specs would get me close? At the moment the motor has the following specs:
Bored 40 tho over with flat top pistons
intake and exhaust ports have been enlarged
large cam (unknown specs but I was told it sounds like at least 30/70)
larger valves with double valve springs (unknow specs)
extractors with 2.5 inch exhaust
standard, rejetted carby.
I realise that twin 45's will be needed and the head will be coming off in the near future to check the size of the valves, cam and compression ratio. What size valves would be most suited (I'm willing to change the current ones if needed), what would be the best cam profile (the car is used for the drags and thats it) and what compression ratio should I be aiming at (it runs on optimax and has been converted to unleaded). Would electronic ignition help as it currently runs points. Sorry for all the questions but I'm keen to start collecting parts before the engine gets pulled down.

electronic ignition would help.

You need to get the head well ported. All the stuff you mentioned won't be making the amount of gains they should without attention to the head ports and combustion shape. Get this done with 10:1 compression and twin 45's, get an adjustible cam sproket and something like a 145-D Kelford cam or equivilant:

Also advance you ignition to around 38-40 total advance.

This should see your 150hp@ wheels.. get a copy of Vizard's book 'how to modify Ford SOHC engines' for more detail.

Or just stick a turbo on it like I did for 190hp @ wheels :) . see my site
