For what it's worth its better to bore oversize and fit new pistons as in these X flow engines the combustion chamber is in piston.Clearance etc in them is more critical and often they have some type of piston damage on used pistons..Depends on how much you want to spend..Yes they are easy to put together.Check crank for roundness and clearance....
Use latter model cam and followers as they are wider, more durable from Mk 3 Cortina on E107E engine..From memory??
