Justin1875 Registered User Join Date: Oct 2006 Posts: 1	3.0 duratec help I have a 1998 ford taurus with the 3.0 duratec and I was wondering if a duratec engine from a 2000 taurus will work. I heard that it will but I would need to change some things like ecu etc.. will just the short block work with no changes???

Dr. Disque Registered User Join Date: Jul 2006 Posts: 288	Re: 3.0 duratec help you'll need the 2000 ECU if you want to use the whole engine. Short block should be the same. The main difference is in the intake manifold. the '98 has electronically controlled secondaries, while the 2000 does not.
