yep i did it and it made my car run better i bought a dremel that has a lot of strips of sandpaper on the side so it looks like a wheel i put it in the entry of the intake and begin to make it bigger this thing also polished the intake manifold at the same time it was boring it out, thanks HOME DEPOT RACING DEVELOPMENT
how long did it take, how much did you bore, and what part and how much was it?

Yeah it takes a pretty long time. I did some minor porting and polishing on my spare intake just to learn it and get some practice. Just use the round cylinder shaped dremel bits, but don't make the grit too large otherwise you'll have scrapes all over on the inside. What I did was go over it with some smooth sandpaper to polish it once I bored it out a little. You basically just want to get a gasket and use a marker or something and trace it onto the intake manifold so that you know where to bore out. Then you just start boring it out until your circle you drew is all gone - now it is gasket matched. Then you'll notice little factory inconsistencies inside like where they peiced it together, you'll want to shave all of those little bumps and stuff that slow down airflow, and so a basic job on the rest and you'll notice a small power gain. Of course the best way to go about this is with professional tools and not a dremel.. but hey like someone mentioned Home Depot Racing Team..
BTW, it's pretty hard to reach deep down into the runners, so you'll want to get something that has a long flexible tip..

the part was like 4 bucks look for it at homedepot where they have all the bits for cleaning rust this one like i told you before it has square tips of sandpaper all around kinda like the wheel on those old water mills, they have two sizes get the bigger one that one fits inside the throtle body just fine a little tight at first but as you begin to use it, it polishes and grinds the intake away it took me like 40 minutes
so this drill bit has a diameter of about 3 inches then???
how far did you bore it?

yep caliguy also i bore it all the way down past the butterfly in the intake both i did make the bore bigger at the edge of the intake to the point were the edge its sharp and skinny in order to make less turbulence
