90' Vulcan 3.0 V6 --- 86' 2.9 V6 Swap?

I have a 1990 3.0 V6 vulcan engine from a probe lx that I want to put in to a ranger. I want to see if anyone knows if a 1990 V6 will fit into a 1986 V6 ranger. I'm sure with some firewall modification it'll fit, but I was wondering if it'll just bolt in. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks.

FWD vulcans are significantly different from RWD vulcans. For example, the throttle body will be pointing at your firewall
