Gello group!

My car is a 1990 Mercury Sable (Taurus) with a 3.0 V6 motor. I'm looking for technical articles and suggestions on how to boost performance and horses from this already decent engine.
Ultimately, I'd like to build a sleeper but I don't have that kind of money right now. In the meantime, any suggestions would help.
I have done nothing to the motor as of yet, it's plain vanilla stock.

Personally I think that boosting is the best value for money if you are handy with a spanner for a street sleeper go with a Blower....

hey man hows it going there a funny looking car i really wanted to get one but i opted for a mondeo coz the V6 was gonna kill me in insurance and id love to see a sleeper version of that car so post some pics when ur done but i can suggest say a K&N air filter if u want the cheaper option it would be to purchase a panel filter to fit urz but if u would prefer real boost in power and fuel economy do what i did find a place up the bottom front of the car and buy the K&N pod filter its illigal but i havent been done yet its been there for 6 months and i have a whopping great big rear wing on the back of mine so ya just go to the nearest exhaust specialist and get some black pipe thats flexible and fairly heat resistant its got like wire running around in a spiral thats good. then hook it up to the front of the car somewhere, somewhere lost of cold air is but try and put something under it like clear plastic to stop water from splashing up as long as its infront of the front tyre it should be ok but i put this clear plastic stuff real flexible just to b sure ull save on fuel and u'll gain power as your engine will be getting clean cold fresh air and alot of it whereas a panel limits the amount of cold air plus its not always that cold as it passes through the metal of the car so in summer not always the coldest once you have done that pod thing its called cool air induction ill get a digital camera and take photos of mine and post it on the net if you would like?
