confused Improving V6 power

Somebody please help me with solid information. I have a 1995 V6 Mustang that I want to keep because I've fixed up the body really nice and made many physical mods. The only problem is high engine mileage, it isn't the exactly the fastest stang and even with my flowmaster, the sound is barely nothing.

To add to the previous: Can anybody suggest perhaps a way of engine swap to a 5.0 (I already have an 8 cylinder transmission long story) or perhaps any way of affordably kicking up my speed and sound? I have heard by ripping out the cat. converter I will get a 5.0 type of sound and better perforance. Is this true? And how can I do this without messing anything up? ANY AFFORDABLE SUGGESTIONS FOR POWER AND SOUND PLEASE REPLY!!!!

BY THE WAY I MEAN REAL MUSTANG SOUND (LOUD) NO CHEESY IMPORT SOUDNS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate kids with riced up civics thinking they can keep up with me because I have a v6.

Hey miker232,

I would say the best way is to go ahead and buy mac h pipe or any other company. My mac h pipe (off roads) i very loud and usually people are trying to find me when they hear it from far away. I also cut my cat. You have to becareful about that though because if you ever have someone work on it they might tellyou no because of no cat. You could even go with x pipe either way if you cut the cat and but either x pipe or h pipe it will be loud. Umm remember that the 5.0 liter is just a beast and the sound of the engine is amazing. I am not sure about your v6 but those h pipes made my cobra even louder.

Fit a 5 Ltr or fit a blower to the V6, but you say your engine is high mileage? Fit the V8 either way the engine has to taken out!!....

i have an s trim 3.8 95 stang its a gt's nightmare ...pypes cat back...
3:73s...5 spd..11lbs 4 now..stock bottom 4 now too.

I have a buddy who has a v6 and it has longtubes, y pipe and flowasters. sounds ok for a V6. and its pretty quick too.

You can always drop in the 5.0 302. You will probably have to get a new harness/computer.

Is your car auto or stick?
