Hello I own a 3.8l 2000 windstar sel and i wanted to kno if it is the same engine as the 3.8l mustangs besides being tranversally mounted. Are the internals the same. I ask because I read the 3.8l is a real power house and the 3.8l mustang guys are making pretty good numbers but havent heard or seen any modded 3.8 windstars so could i buy performance parts for the mustang and put into my star. any info would be appreicated sorry if there is already a thread bout dis.

I did some poking around and it looks like the 2001-2003 versions of the Mustang 3.8 are compatible with yours. I don't have hands on experience with that engine though so hopefully someone who does will find their way in here.
